Biomolecular and Biomimetic Materials Laboratory

The Biomolecular and Biomimetic Materials Lab aims to create programmable materials at both nanoscale and macroscale level for drug delivery, tissue regeneration, and clinical diagnosis.

Primary research focuses include:

  • Biomimetic nanomaterials for programmable diagnosis and therapy
  • Programmable hydrogels for on-demand delivery of protein drugs
  • Dynamic tissue-like materials for regenerative medicine and tissue engineering
  • Programmable hydrogels for attracting and destroying circulating tumor cells and microorganisms

About

The Department of Biomedical Engineering administers the undergraduate major in biomedical engineering, and is a part of the university-wide Intercollege Graduate Degree Program, offering both M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Bioengineering. Our work combines traditional engineering principles with medicine and technology for the betterment of human health and society.
