Members of the Systematic Bioengineering Laboratory awarded best paper

04/28/2016

Members of the Systematic Bioengineering Laboratory were recentely awared the CM HO Best Paper Award in Micro/Nano Fluidics at the IEEE NEMS 2016 Conference in Matsushima Bay and Sendai MEMS City, Japan.

The group, led by Pak Kin Wong, professor of biomedical engineering, was recognized for their paper "Long-Range Electrokinetic Fluid Motion for Rapid Pathogen Identification and Antimicrobial Susceptibility Testing."

In the work, primary author, Yi Lu, identified a novel electrokinetic fluid motion and applied the long-range fluid motion to address several fundamental chanllenges of microfluidic point-of-care diagnostis.

Other contributors include Pansy Leung and Gao Jian from Penn State, Joseph Liao from Stanford University and Vincent Gau from GeneFluidics.
