Using closed-loop control to understand the effects of intracranial pressure on cerebral hemodynamics

Project Description: The Drew Lab works at the interface between the brain and the vascular system. Blood flow in the brain is controlled by neural activity, but the mechanical environment within the skull, specifically the intracranial pressure, also affects cerebral blood flow. We have a project looking into how changes in intracranial pressure alter blood flow in the brain. The student would be involved in developing and testing a computer-controlled, closed-loop system to dynamically control intracranial pressure. The student should be familiar with Labview and be independent and highly motivated.
