On Saturday, January 30, a group of bioengineering graduate students partnered with the Eberly College of Science to teach young women and their parents about careers in STEM.
The one-day event, "Expanding Young Horizons" (EYH) STEM Career Day, focused on educating high school and middle school girls about career options in mathematics, science, and engineering. The event's goal was to provide hands-on technical learning opportunities for young women, and to connect them with positive role models currently active in STEM studies and careers.
Bioengineering students Gloria Kim, Brittany Banik, Pouria Fattahi, and Qiyao Li, hosted a table at the event. The group distributed program information and literature and shared a number of video clips with the participants.
